Mena Alexandra suvari, born on February 13, 1979, in America is an actor, fashion designer and a model. Shortly after beginning her career as a model, she moved into acting, after appearing in guest roles on 1990's TV shows like Boy Meets World and High Incident. She debuted in film with the drama Nowhere, which was released in 1997. Through her roles in American Beauty - for which the actress was nominated receive a BAFTA Award - and American Pie that earned much attention as she stepped into more prominent roles. In 2000, she was alongside her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2001, she took on the main role in Sugar & Spice (2000). Spun, a 2002 independent drama film and Trauma (2004) thrillers both featured in her career. She also appeared in the HBO drama Six Feet Under in 2004 the show was awarded a nomination for an Best Cast of the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. She was also cast in the film version of Day of Dead and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, as well as the movie versions of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has appeared in many fashion blogs and magazines as well as Vogue. She is also a Lancome model and appears on print advertisements of Lancome Paris Adaptive. She is a long-time supporter and activist for the highly regarded African relief organization The African Medical and Research Foundation.
